Christy Stocker, Principal

Christy Stocker has been serving as the Principal of Nicasio School since the summer of 2006. In addition to providing leadership and oversight at Nicasio School, she also teachers the language arts programs for students in grades 5-8. She holds two bachelor of arts degrees, one in classics and the second in visual arts, both from the University of Washington. Ms. Stocker studied elementary education at Western Washington University where she received her teaching credential; she is a highly qualified teacher authorized to provide multiple-subject instruction to grades K-8 and single subject instruction in Latin to grades K-12. She earned her master's degree in educational administration from Seattle University.

Mark Burton, President

Mark is the current President of the Foundation. Mark is an attorney and led the effort to renew the school parcel tax in 2015. He also leads the field committee for the Nicasio Land Preserve.

MarieFrance Cote, Vice President

Mariefrance has served on the foundation for the last 6 years in different roles from parent liaison to president, and now vice president. She has chaired the foundation’s Spring fundraisers, working alongside a fantastic community. She is a psychotherapist working with individuals and families in private practice in Marin. Cleary Vaughn-Lee, Secretary

Cleary Vaughn-Lee, Secretary

Cleary Vaughan-Lee is a mother of two. She is the education director for the Global Oneness Project, a free multimedia education platform that provides global, cultural, and environmental stories and lesson plans for teachers. She is the lead writer for the project’s lesson plans and is also a blogger. Her work has appeared on Education Week, TED Ed, and PBS Learning Media, among others. Cleary lives in Point Reyes Station with her family and loves reading, gardening, and cooking.

Laura Skapik, Treasurer

Laura began volunteering as Treasurer of the Nicasio School Foundation in 2012. She has two young daughters at Nicasio School and really wanted to get involved with fundraising efforts big and small. She is passionate about making that connection vibrant between the students, school and community and taking on this Treasurer position has been hugely gratifying. Her career background is in corporate retail project coordination, and she is also a Certified Paralegal.

 
Patty Baker Winkelmann, Parent Liaison

Patty Baker Winkelmann, Parent Liaison

Patty Baker Winkelmann serves as the parent liaison on the foundation. She enjoys people, and wishes to make them feel welcome into the Nicasio School community while supporting the school’s financial needs and goals. She is a nurse specializing in Cardiology Cardiac Transplant & Left Ventricular Devices. She serves as a  member of the Nicasio Volunteer Fire Department/Ladies Auxiliary. When not supporting others, she enjoys jogging, skiing, waterski-ing, and carting her daughter Ashley to swim, soccer meets, and 4H events.
